Unable to access forms at the top level when logged in
Is this an issue for everyone?

When I am logged into this site, the "Forums" link is not available in the left frame of the site (under my username). I can access each forum area (General, tabMud Development, etc.) but if I tried to go to the "Home > forum" top level, I get the error: "Access denied". So if I'm logged in, the only way to get to the forum areas is by direct URL or by what's available in the "Recent Forum Posts" list.

If I log out, I can access everything as "guest" and the "Forums" link is available in the left frame of the site.

I tried blocking/unblocking you. THat has done the trick before.

Same Problem
I just created an account, and I have the same problem as above. I had to log out to see the list of categories in the forums, before logging back in and posting this.

blocked then unblocked. I wonder does this happen to every new member? Anyone else notice an issue so we can narrow it down?

That fixed it for me. Thanks.

I have this issue also.
I'm having this issue also. I see the forums link in the left pane, but I get the access denied message.

Or at least I was. Seems to have fixed itself this time I logged in. Weird. lol. That or maybe you guys fixed the forum code. Who knows. Either way oh well.

I'm having this issue again. The "forums" link is missing from the left panel and if I try to access it by clicking the top link while on a forum page I get the:
Quote:
Access denied
You are not authorized to access this page.

Error page.
Who's online shows only myself and welcor. Could it be a permissions issue somehow with him being logged in? Seems to be that when he's here is only time I have this issue, but that's just weird.

This happened a while back for me, but after the forums were updated to another system or code use. Yeah after looking at it I had issues Nov 11th 2009. Not sure if there was a update of some sort back then, but after that point I haven't had issues.

Yeah, same here too. Not that it's a problem, I can just get to where I want to go via the right hand side links.

Not always, such as starting a new thread in a forum that doesn't appear in the right panel.

Good call Jam, will do that for now. However just for information sake, is this being worked on?

Not by me unfortunately, I don't have access to user admin. I think only Rumble or Welcor can deal with this one, and I'm sure they will look into it when they spot this thread...

I meant into fixing the issue in the board code that is causing this in the first place hehe ;) But thanks either way.

Not really. Not very many people seem to have the issue, and it's a 10 second fix once we're told about it.

Digging into the board code (which is a third party plugin to drupal) and determining the error could potentially take days.

Too low on the Cost/Benefit scale to get done.

Ok, well, I'm still not fixed ;)

If its a freely downloadable plugin point me at it. I have the time and ambition to look for it.

Unfortunately the drupal forum we are using (5.19) is no longer being updated. We do need to convert to a newer forum but we haven't found a good replacement yet. I haven't looked at the drupal package for a couple years. So any help in finding an alternative would be appreciated.

Sadly I'm not familiar with Drupal myself. I do know that one of the MyBB community members is working on linking MyBB into Drupal, but I'm not sure of the status of the project. I know that of course because I'm a pretty active MyBB Plugin developer. I'll keep my eyes peeled though, and do some searching tomorrow.

I'm having the same issue as well without seeing the link to forums under my name and I'm manually going through the different sections :S

I know this is off topic. But I can't access CwG website. Is it down?

I'll repost my links at the bottom here for you...

Yes, it seems that CWG is currently down. It's unfortunately a known problem over which Zizazat has no control. Something to do with a remote server crashing or rebooting, and then not reloading the webserver I think. This means it's down until the server admins fix it, which generally takes a few hours to a few days (I think 5-6 days is the record), so just keep trying it every few hours...

Thanks Jamdog for the links. I bookmarked them earlier when I read through this post.

I'm glad that the website isn't permanently down and its just a server issue.

CwG site is back! That makes it about 12 hours since I noticed it was offline...
