Caer Dubrin is the brainchild of myself and several other former players of the MUD 2001's Eternal Darkness. Taking the best ideas of ED, our own ideas, and some very nice snippets from the original CircleMUD ftp site we have built a nice new home for ourselves. With many enhancements and customizations to the stock code, OLC, and DG Scripts, it is a MUD to be proud of. Very soon the code will have reached a level of maturity that will allow the building process to begin in earnest.

Enhanced Player System with Races, Guilds, Gods deciding a "combo" which determines your learning "spheres"
Clan System - In Progress
Enhanced Mobile System: You can set basically everything for a mobile via OLC, including Class, Race, Guild, God, Hp, Ma, Mv, Spells, Skills, Stats
Enhanced Remort System in which you keep every skill and spell you have already learned, but are reset back to level 1 and increased in remort level and can choose a new race/guild/god combo.
Remort level bonuses: you take less damage, you do more damage, you can use more powerful equipment.
Enhanced Spell/Skill learning system, including some spells and skills that are only obtainable by apprenticing to various masters scattered throughout the world. Also some spells/skills that cannot be learned by players.
No Stock Zones except the void and the immortal zone. Both of which have had at least minor changes.
Assemblies Patch, with each assembly type requiring the appropriate skill.
Skill improvement by usage, not by using practice sessions. Sessions instead used to "learn" a spell.
Enhanced Quest System using DG Scripts for the quests.
Quest, Relic, and Rare equipment.
Both Quest and Relic equipment get better for every remort you have above the minimum remort level of the equipment. Without changing the equipment itself (done via DG Script).
Enhanced Level Range 1 to 500, with the ability to buy your remort occuring at level 200.
Immortal levels 301 to 305, separated from normal levels 301-305 via the use of an IS_IMMORT flag.
Multi-Play allowed (Up to 3 online at once, code enforced by IP)
Many many more.
NOTES:
This MUD allows adult themes, so if those offend you please do not apply.
Builders must complete one 50 to 100 room zone every 6 months, or one larger than 100 room zone every year in order to keep their position.
I enforce strict quality control on all building. Which is done on a separate port from the port you play on.
Builders must also play the MUD. So that they can understand how it works.
Being a Builder does not guarantee getting an immortal on the main port, in fact, it isn't likely to have much to do with it at all except perhaps to show dedication to the improvement of the game.
Builders who do not log in for 60 days are deleted.
